On Christmas Day
God sent us
a gift swaddled with Love

Wrapped with Love
**************************
What’s this new present under the tree?
It wasn’t there on Christmas Eve
And what’s inside doesn’t matter to me
It’s about the love of our family
~
So many prayers have been said
each night as I laid upon my bed
and each need of grace now in my head
inspires my words now written instead
~
Only a parent could understand
the love for a child now a man
and how this bond continues its plan
until time’s final grain of sand

Your gift reminds me
of the One God gave
wrapped with love on Christmas Day.
~
Our treasured gifts have been the time we’ve spent with our teenagers.
We were so proud of them as they sat in front of us at The Hobbit movie.
They were more considerate and quiet than a myriad of adults
whose mobile devices were interrupting the show
with flashes, ring-a-lings, and other silliness.
~
We were so proud of our teenagers when they were willing to go for a walk
with us on Christmas Eve to view
our neighborhood lights that are the talk of the town.
~
We were touched when all of them sat and watched
It’s a Wonderful Life
with us,
instead of chatting with their online friends.
~
They reminded us of what God cares about.
A personal relationship.

Have a wonderful Christmas, Wendy. Thanks for always sharing from your heart.
Christmas Blessings on your family, dear Heidi. Your generous heart is a testimony for all of us to trust God more and more so He can love others through us. ❀
Thanks for sharing, Wendy. What blessings your teenagers are. Merry Christmas 🙂
Thank you. ❀ They teach me more than I’ve ever taught them. Christmas blessings to you & your family
Life is good. Love is good. God is GOOD.
So true, dear Ian. ❀ So glad to be walking this road with you.
My wife and I are so thankful that, even though separated from us and each other by lots of miles, except for the one who does live locally, our children – in their 30s and 40s – are still “family.” What a blessing! Thanks for this great post!
That encourages me, Clarence, to hear that distance is no obstacle for family love. ❀ Blessings to you & your loved ones. Thank you for your visit here.
Lovely and heartwarming to read, Wendy! You are really blessed and indeed the verse you chose says it all 🙂 Love, Iris
Thank you, dear Iris. ❀ I’m praying that they will have close-knit families of their own one day. God is good. Hugs. xo
