Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The ancient Mystery

eternal – without start or end

Incomprehensible

a Triune of Love

our God – our Savior – our Friend

~

The only Creator

who simply spoke to form the starry host

Unfathomable

a holy Trinity

the Father – the Son – the Holy Ghost

~

The only Redeemer

whose shed blood our salvation has won

Propitiation

the spotless Lamb

Alpha – Omega – God’s only Son

~

The conquering Prince

who shall return on lightning steed

Substitutionary

the risen One

who claims for bride – all who have believed.

 may we ponder, as Mary did,

on the things that we’ve been told

 about our Messiah and soon returning King.

Plans we may make

details of dreams drawn

but unless they’re stamped

with Your seal, Lord

all is wasted and gone

Hopes we may have

longings that linger lucid

but unless they’re lifted

before You, Lord

all is lost and fruitless

~

Freewill may be ours

choices within each mind

but unless we’re submitted

to You, Lord

no peace will we find.

Wow, I cannot believe how many detours

my life has taken from the road map

 I had drawn out so many years ago.

~

And as I look back,

much of them make sense

to my very limited mind.

~

God sees what’s ahead

 in the fabric of our lives

He knows the thread count

The more days that pass

The more aware I am

of my crimes of shame

nailed into your hands

~

Though I’ve grown in You

 by your holy grace

So much more I need

as I seek your face

~

Your pure Light reveals

and exposes my greed

all my sinful thoughts

and any false beliefs

~

From your open side

poured out love Divine

Mercy’s cleansing flood

and my healing wine.

One Sunday, years ago, a godly, elderly lady stood up in church to share with us how ashamed she was

for some critical thoughts she had had toward a young mother with an unruly child.

She had repented, inwardly, on the spot

 and chose to bless the mother instead; she read to the child.

~

I was deeply impressed with how humble

and how teachable this lovely lady was.

The depth of her remorse over her own sin

was a sermon for all of us that Sunday.

~

Woe to me!” I cried.

“I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips,

and I live among a people of unclean lips,

and my eyes have seen the King,

the Lord Almighty.”

Isaiah 6:5

give ear to me and hear my prayer.

Show the wonder of your great love,

would draw me near
