“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

What if?
*********
What if my talents resemble
a child’s sandcastle on the shore
while others are built of stone
on mountaintops grandeur?
~
What if the crops I’ve planted
only yield some lowly grain
while others have mined diamonds
and other costly things?
~
What if the life I live
only leaves an etch in stone
while others have hewn marble monuments
when they’re warmly welcomed home?
~
What if I joyfully accept
the humble lot God’s given me
investing it with all I’m worth
for interest eternally?

The comparison game really isn’t appropriate for Christians to engage in. Our mandate is to trust and obey God; we are also called to make disciples. A spinster I know works faithfully at her day job quietly and reliably. She also serves faithfully in children’s ministries year after year in her church. I would not describe her as a glamorous woman; however, I believe she is potentially the most beautiful woman, from her fellowship, in the eyes of God. I admire her!

May we invest the talent we’ve been given.

Wise counsel. May The Lord add his blessing to your word🌞
Thank you! Nothing lasts or truly lives without his blessing.
What if we had not found your blogs…or what if you had not started the blogs…thank you for your ‘investment’.
Thank you, Steve, for your own investment and kind words. 🙂
May we invest what we’ve been given, indeed! Thank you for this reminder! No comparisons; just live fully for God’s glory! Blessings–Alison
May his character be revealed in all we say and do. I am so glad God is love and full of grace to continue his work in us.
Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy
Thanks, Wendy. So very true…all He asks of us is what we should do, and not worry about what others do for God’s kingdom.
Amen, Sue! May we keep our eyes on Jesus.
Such encouraging words. It’s not what we do or what we’ve done, but Who we did it for that counts. The pennies given in faith invoke greater joy in heaven than millions given without the cross.
Peace
I like what you said about the pennies. We are to give what we have joyfully from a heart of faith. 🙂
Ah yes, we answer to only one. Our Creator. And He gives the gifts. We are to be faithful with them. So glad I came here. You are blessed, dear Wendy.
Thank you, Gracie, for visiting here. It feels more like a “care group”, at this blog, for friends in the faith. 🙂
“our final sunset….” SInce I’m in my 8th decade, these words perhaps mean more to me than someone not so far along the path of life. I remember reading the following words somewhere fairly recently: “Live each day as if it were your last, because one day, you will be right….”
Clarence, once again you have managed to share sound wisdom and make me smile both at the same time.:) I appreciate your visits and comments.
Thank you. I enjoy your photography and poetry.
